Steel-reinforced resin for bolted shear connectors: Confined behaviour under quasi-static cyclic loading

چکیده
Injections bolts were initially conceptualized to repair riveted connections in bridges with long service lifetime and now they are widely used steel composite structures. Injecting steel-reinforced epoxy resin bolted oversized holes is a novel approach enable fast easy assembly of structures while limiting slip between the components. The performance these shear connectors mainly dependent on injected material. In this paper, short-term mechanical properties an epoxy-based mixed shots (steel-reinforced resin) evaluated consider it for connectors. Uniaxial static tests allowed compare stiffness ductility define hardening law, multiaxial conducted under quasi-static cyclic loading order characterize material behaviour confined conditions. Steel-reinforced specimens showed conditions 2.6 times higher compared bare specimens. This increase fundamental achieve resistant when resin-injected significantly holes. linear Drucker-Prager plastic model was behaviour. good agreement observed indicates that future investigations numerical experimental can be implemented parameters proposed paper.

Behaviour of Corroded Stud Shear Connectors under Fatigue Loading
Experimental investigation was conducted on corroded composite push-out specimens to study the behavior of shear studs subjected to fatigue loading. A total of eight standard EC4 push-out specimens were tested. The expected corrosion rate of test specimens ranged from 0 to 50%. The main purpose of these tests was to determine the fatigue life and the reduction effect caused by the corrosion on ...
متن کاملMechanical behaviour of TWIP steel under shear loading
Twinning induced plasticity steels (TWIP) are very good candidate for automotive industry applications because they potentially offer large energy absorption before failure due to their exceptional strain hardening capability and high strength. However, their behaviour is drastically influenced by the loading conditions. In this work, the mechanical behaviour of a TWIP steel sheet sample was in...
متن کاملBehaviour of Reinforced Fibrous Concrete Beams under Reversed Cyclic Loading
When earthquakes occur, energy released by the earthquake gets induced into the structure as ground motion and this energy has to be dissipated for safety reasons. To release seismic energy, the structure should damage in such a way that on one hand, collapse of structure should not occur and on the other hand, after the earthquake, damage should be economically feasible to repair. To avoid the...

متن کاملStrength Prediction in CFRP Woven Laminate Bolted Single-Lap Joints under Quasi-static Loading using XFEM
This paper is concerned with modelling damage and fracture in woven fabric CFRP single-lap bolted joints that fail by net-tension. The approach is based on the assumption that damage (matrix cracking, delamination and fibre tow fracture) initiates and propagates from the hole in a self-similar fashion. A traction-separation law (based on physically meaningful material parameters) is implemented...
